PAULA MALLOY

Having followed her two passions in life, yoga and art, Paula is a creative. A thinker. A questioner and social justice seeker. She began practising yoga 24 years ago as a weak and inflexible teenager. Within a year of that first class, she felt physically and mentally there was a change. Yoga was the missing piece to her individuality and independence. It became her freedom of movement, her voice of expression, the stones which her confidence was built on and the foundations to managing stress and anxieties.

Yoga became an important part of her daily routine as the physical and mental benefits of the practice soon began to show. Her journey before teaching was 16 years of having a dedicated yoga practice and simply being a ’student’ before becoming a teacher. Having spent her twenties and thirties working in the competitive world of product design for major high-street blue-chip retailers, she felt the natural path for her was to step into a teaching role. She found love in the individuality of anatomy, which led her to focusing on creativity within her yoga sequencing, teaching an undogmatic approach and allowing much individuality on the mat. Creating a yoga practice that intertwines with her creative has allowed her to be innovative, designing fun sequences with informative learnings. Her belief for her yoga teachings is to serve the purpose of deepening a connection not only to ourselves but with the people around us. She believes in people, she believes in the potential of people; their movement potential, their kindness, the will and want to cultivate a strong sense of community and togetherness. But most of all she believes that it's ‘We’ the people who make the difference.
