Event Overview
A nourishing day to pause, reconnect and embrace the wisdom of winter.
As the seasons turn and the days grow shorter, winter invites us to slow down, turn inward and create space for rest, reflection and renewal.
Wintering Well is a nurturing day retreat created to help you reconnect with yourself through grounding practices, gentle yoga, meditation, seasonal nutrition and nourishing food.
A chance to step away from the demands of everyday life and move into a slower, more restorative rhythm — creating space to breathe, reflect and find a little more light within.
What awaits you…
Grounding & Hatha Yoga ( Gathering the Light )
Begin the day by arriving fully in your body and creating a sense of calm and steadiness.
Rashma is senior Yoga teacher with over a decade of experience.
Rashma’s teaching blends mindful movement, breath and ancient yoga philosophy to create balanced, accessible and transformative practices.
Through a combination of grounding techniques and gentle yoga, we'll explore ways to settle the nervous system, release physical tension and reconnect with the present moment.
The practice is designed to be accessible and nurturing, whether you are completely new to yoga or already have an established practice. There is no expectation to perform - simply an invitation to listen to your body, move with awareness and create some inner space.
Trataka – Candle-Lit Meditation
As the light outside begins to soften, we'll turn our attention towards the gentle glow of a candle.
Trataka is an ancient yogic meditation practice involving steady gazing at a candle flame. The simplicity of the practice gives the busy mind something quiet and steady to rest upon, encouraging concentration, clarity and stillness.
We'll explore the practice gently, allowing the experience to become less about doing and more about simply being present.
A beautiful, reflective practice for the darker months - turning our attention towards the light.
Nutrition for the Season
Winter asks something different of us.
We'll explore how our food, routines and approach to nourishment can support us as the seasons change — moving towards foods and rhythms that feel warming, grounding and restorative.
We'll consider how seasonal eating can support energy, resilience and wellbeing, while also exploring the relationship between nourishment and the way we feel.
This is not about restriction or rules. It's about learning to nourish ourselves with greater awareness and kindness.
You'll take away simple ideas that you can incorporate into everyday life as the colder months unfold.
Naturopathic Menu
Food is an important part of the retreat experience.
You'll enjoy a thoughtfully prepared, seasonal naturopathic lunch reflecting the principles explored during the day — food that is comforting, nourishing and full of goodness.
We'll make space to enjoy lunch with time to sit down, eat slowly, connect and savour.
We'll also keep you refreshed throughout the day with unlimited teas, fruit and wholesome snacks.
